Cocktails, art & shopping come together to celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) at Birmingham based bar & cantina, Bodega on Tuesday Nov 1st at 5pm. Joined by local gift store Beadesaurus hosting a pop-up shop in the basement bar, the night will give customers the chance to purchase a range of sugar skull patterned wallets, bags, t-shirts, purses, hair grips, home wear and other accessories including a collection from popular brands Loungefly and Sourpuss.

Día de los Muertos is an annual Mexican festival which celebrates the lives of those who have passed away. Bodega & Beadesaurus have joined forces to mark this annual event with an evening full of Mexican inspired art from a local artist, products from Beadesaurus giftware and hand crafted cocktails from Bodega. Plus there is the opportunity to win prizes from both venues when you design your own sugar skull during the evening’s event – winning entries will also be displayed at Beadesaurus.

Steve Bould, Bodega’s General Manager said “We wanted to celebrate Dia de los Muertos as it’s such a big part of Mexican culture, waking past Beadesaurus every day and seeing their colourful sugar skull patterned items in the window I knew we should work together! What better way to celebrate this traditional festival than with inspired artwork, be it on paper, a t shirt or a bag! We’ll be serving our cocktails made with spirits such as pisco, tequila and rum to bring a further taste of South America to the evening”

Starting at 5pm in Bodega’s basement bar, Sugarloaf, free entry all evening.

Drinks offers include the Día de los Muertos cocktail for £4, Corona £2.50 and house wine £10 a bottle.
