In September of 1998 Rick moved to Birmingham to study Jewellery and Silversmithing at the school of Jewellery in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter. As he approached the end of his final year in Birmingham, along with a friend from the jewellery school they decided to start a business together, putting to use some of the skills they had learnt on their course and combining it with the simplicity of building beaded jewellery.

On the 26th of June 2000 Beadesaurus opened in the Oasis Fashion Store, Birmingham. The original aim being to find great beads and jewellery to sell in the shop, alongside the beaded and silver jewellery that they designed and made themselves. When Rick became sole owner of the business he began to expand the range of items sold and now, alongside beads and jewellery you can also purchase clothing, body jewellery, badges, patches, bags, gifts and much, much more.

In April 2006 we opened our second shop in Marple, Stockport. Marple is more a dedicated bead shop, selling a wider range including Swarovski crystal and Venetian glass. Over a year on and the Marple shop is slowly growing in reputation as we continue to find great beads for our customers to continue designing and making their own jewellery.

In April 2011 we opened our new flagship boutique store within the beautiful Victorian surroundings of Piccadilly Arcade in Birmingham.
